Amazon.com started as an online bookstore in 1994. Over 20 years later, Amazon is still selling books, and is one of the top online book stores in the world. Since books are so easily available in this day and age, it begs the question: What are the top selling books each year? There are many ways to follow the history of the top-selling books such as looking at the New York Times® Best Sellers and many other best-selling book lists. However, in the case of the New York Times® Best Sellers, the methodology used can be cause for controversy. Luckily, when it comes to Amazon books, a running list of “Amazon Best Sellers” from 1995 to present is maintained and based on actual all-time Amazon book sales by year.
